Do it today, not tomorrow!

May with RINGANA is going to be super sporty

May with RINGANA is going to be super sporty, and RINGANA has taken sport as its motto for the entire month. As if to order, spring has its best side on show – so we have no more excuses as far as sport and movement are concerned. To make the most difficult part – getting started – easier, we have a couple of tips guaranteed to get you going.

1. Find a sport that suits you

Sport trends constantly pop up in gyms, some short-lived, some lasting longer. But don’t be swayed by what happens to be “in” at the moment. Choose a sport that suits you and matches your goal.

If you want more muscle definition, power sports are a good choice. For greater endurance, opt for running, cycling or swimming. Also ask yourself whether you’ll be more motivated if you train as part of a group, or whether you prefer to exercise alone and undisturbed.

2. Take it slowly, and step it up gradually

“Nobody was born a master” – and that goes for all sports as well. Accustom yourself to the movements and the effort slowly. Feel how your body is reacting, and don’t overdo things if you haven’t done any sport for a while. Start off with short sessions. Listen to your body, so you know when it’s becoming too much.

3. Everything’s easier with music

Tune out the world, tune in to music and sport! Sometimes it’s a huge effort to do our daily exercise. We all know the feeling: it’s raining, we fancy a cosy evening in front of the TV, or we’re simply not motivated enough. To stop your weaker self getting the upper hand, put together a motivational playlist. It’s so much easier to get moving when you’re listening to your favourite song, and you’ll see –

you never regret an hour of exercise because the happiness you feel afterwards is incomparable.

4. Stick at it!

Yes, of course there’ll be phases when you just want to give up and throw in the towel. That’s normal, and we’re all familiar with it. In situations like this, it’s important to remind yourself of why you started training in the first place. To lose a few pounds, for muscle definition, for positive health benefits….? Never lose sight of your goal, and keep moving! And if you really are all out of motivation, then just take a quick walk – anything’s better than lying around on the couch.

5. Equipment

If you’re starting to practice a sport for the first time, we’d recommend that you pick one that needs little or no equipment. Swimming, cycling or jogging are good choices for getting started because these don’t call for any major investments. Once you’ve got used to your new, athletic lifestyle, you can try something new. At that stage, it will be easier to decide whether you want to practice a particular sport over the longer term, and whether it’s worth spending money on it.

6. Supplements

Naturally, you can also support your body from within for training. In that connection, RINGANA offers a range of supplements that supplies your body with that little extra it needs before, during and after SPORT.

SPORT push mobilises your body’s own energy reserves for peak performance. SPORT boost provides you with all the important nutrients your body needs while training. SPORT protein ensures a long-lasting protein supply with pure plant-based proteins.

7. Accept the challenge!

To get you started, we recommend the RINGANA Fitness Challenge on our RINGANA Instagram account @ringana. For three weeks it will feature a vast array of different exercises that are suitable for beginners and more advanced athletes alike. Show us how motivated you are – which will help to motivate others – by sharing your workout with us on Instagram! When you do, you can also make use of the specially created Fitness Challenge Instagram filters.

So that’s enough reading about sport – now it’s time to start doing it! Don’t forget: it’s not about being a professional athlete, particularly when you’re just getting started. Don’t demand too much of your body, just make a start.  And most important of all: have fun!
